Incident and Fire Danger Information

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should

With the lifting of fire restrictions across the state, you can now burn under local law arrangements.  However with continuing dry conditions across large areas of Victoria, CFA has responded to many escaped burnoffs in recent weeks.

Before burning off, make sure you check the weather conditions – do not burn if fire danger is higher than moderate, or if the following days ratings are higher than moderate.  Make sure that you have the ability to extinguish your burn and do not leave it unattended.

See the CFA website for more information

Bushfire Prepare aims to reduce the risk and impact of bushfires through engagement of local private land holders in their own bushfire fuel management.

This project aims to provide:

          A focus on reduction of bushfire risk through the management of fuel works and other associated activities on private land;

          A strengthening of engagement and partnerships between Local Government, community and agencies that focus on fuel management;

          An increase in community understanding of and community decision making involvement with bushfire risk reduction activities, community resilience and support of community decision making for risk reduction strategies.
